Jinwei Zhang is a Chinese-born pianist and educator who recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Performance at The Catholic University of America. He previously earned his Master of Music degree from the Mannes School of Music in New York as a Presidential Scholar and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music. As a performer, he has appeared at venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, as well as at the Chinese and Bulgarian Embassies in Washington, D.C., and has been featured in media such as China Daily and The Washington Diplomat. He is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Washington International Young Artists Music Series (WIYAMS), an initiative supporting emerging musicians through performance and collaboration. In addition to performing, he is an active teacher with experience in both China and the United States, focusing on technical development, musical understanding, and long-term student growth.
